The National Conference theme — “Leadership as a tool for providing quality health care in Nigeria.” Speakers moved beyond general exhortation to concrete operational proposals: state-led demand guarantees for local manufacturing (Enugu), explicit calls for regulatory nationalization and fee review (GMP and overlapping agency functions), an expanded HEPAN mission with six objectives (including local content and an integrity seal), and a practical plan for capacity building (HEPAN Academy, biomedical engineering training). The meeting emphasised supply-chain integrity (cold chain, reagent quality), association self-regulation, and public–private collaboration as immediate levers.
